Kentucky Robocall and Telemarketing Complaints

Kentucky residents can report illegal telemarketing calls, robocalls and robotexts to the Kentucky Office of the Attorney General, Office of Consumer Protection online or by phone at 888-432-9257 (Consumer Protection Hotline), and should register with the National Do Not Call Registry.

Complaint rules

What to include in a complaint
Date and time of each call or text; the caller ID number exactly as shown (a screenshot helps); the company, seller or caller name given; what was offered; whether it was a prerecorded or artificial voice; any voicemail, recording or text; the date your number was put on the do-not-call list; and any earlier request you made to stop calling.
Deadlines and limitations
Private lawsuit limitation period (per TCPA.com research): 2 years for KRS 367.220 private actions. Complaint deadlines at the agency: none stated unless noted.
How to register
No state list to join; register free at donotcall.gov or 1-888-382-1222 (TTY 1-866-290-4236).
Private right of action
Limited No statutory damages; purchasers or lessees may recover actual and punitive damages and fees (KRS 367.220); private civil action for caller ID violations (KRS 367.46999).
